Tipsbladet reports that newly promoted Bundesliga club FC Köln are negotiating with Brøndby IF over a potential purchase of right-back Sebastian Sebulonsen. Köln presently do not have an experienced right-back in their squad. Natural winger Jan Thielmann mostly filled in for the Domstädter at the position last season. Köln now look to Denmark in their search for a top flight player.
The cathedral city club in fact just shipped the only true right-back at their disposal back to Denmark one week ago when Danish fullback Rasmus Carstensen was loaned out to Aarhus. Thielmann himself has been linked with a move away from Köln, though there doesn’t appear to be anything concrete in the works at the moment.
Sebulonsen enters the final year of his contract with the Danish capital city side. The former Norwegian U21 international maintains an estimated market value of €2.5m. Brøndby paid €1.5m to acquire the now 25-year-old from Norway’s Viking FK in 2022.
Köln – thanks to recent sales of Max Finkgräfe and Damion Downs – are operating with an estimated summer transfer surplus of €1.8m.
