Ben Knight has left Manchester City to join Real Murcia on a permanent deal.
The 22-year-old moves to the Spanish side ahead of the start of the 2024/25 Primera Federacion season.
Joining City in 2018 as a 16-year-old, the creative midfielder shone for our Under-18 Premier League and FA Youth Cup sides in his first two campaigns before becoming a regular in the Premier League 2 in 2020/21.
He made his only competitive appearance for the first team as a second-half substitute in the 2021 Community Shield, replacing Cole Palmer in the 74th minute of our 1-0 defeat to Leicester City at Wembley.
After that, he joined Crewe Alexandra on loan before injuries forced him to return to Manchester.
He spent the final few months of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Stockport County in League Two.
He has also featured on two pre-season tours with Pep Guardiola’s side, travelling to the United States of America in the summers of 2022 and 2024.
Knight will now continue his career in southern Spain in a move that remains subject to international clearance.
Everyone at City would like to wish Ben the best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts at City.
