On Divock Origi’s exit

“I expect Div to get a special reception. He’s been one of the most important players I’ve ever had.

“He was and is a pure joy to work with. He will forever be a Liverpool legend.

“Wherever he goes, he will be a success. Everyone loves him.”

On injuries

“The rest of the boys look all good, what we do for the weekend, I don’t know yet.

“Mo (Salah) doesn’t want to take any risks, no doubt about that but it looks good.

“My solution is they can play at the weekend or at least be on the bench. If not, we take it from there.

“Joe Gomez is good news, we want a reassuring second scan. But we thought after the game we were luck. Just a knock.”

On the Steven Gerrard factor

“If I could play a game that’d help Dortmund/Mainz, it’d help but I’m not playing, Stevie isn’t either.

“It’d be better if he was then me! Stevie will take it 100% serious without my call.”

On pitch invasions

“83rd minute and some fathers and sons were on, they lose their minds for their sons too, I didn’t get that. It could have been dangerous.

“Not sure how you avoid that, I don’t want to judge, I understand emotions but for the other team it’s dangerous.

“I really hope we learn from that. It’s just like it is. We should make sure absolutely nothing happens.

“We can celebrate things without threatening ourselves and the opponent.”

On the season so far

“It’s been tough but great, a joy to be part of this season. It’s exceptional this group. These people are a pure joy.

“It’s so rare this and you cannot plan it. But the boys did it. Fed by the people here, the fans, it’s a fantastic time.”

On potential departures

“I don’t want to see anyone leave but that’s life. No-one has come to me and said they want to leave. It’s not the time for that now.

“What happened this year is possible because of the group; world-class players. Kids played their part which was nice too.”

On the trophy parade

“We have so many reasons to celebrate. I think it’s enough to celebrate life. Of course Carabao Cup, FA Cup, I know we didn’t have parade two years ago so I am happy we can deliver what I promised that time.

“It’s about us what we want to celebrate, couldn’t care less what others say.

“It’s just for us, it’s just for Liverpool FC. It’s just to celebrate that we are together in this moment of time.

“That’s enough to celebrate but this May 29 will be a great day.”
