Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the Liverpool squad has had some frank discussions to try and get their league form back on track.
The Reds take on Manchester United this weekend in what is a huge game between the top two sides in the table at the moment.
A win for the Reds would put them back on top and, indeed, be a perfect tonic after a few disappointing results in recent weeks against sides they should have really got more points from.
That said, as quoted by the Guardian, manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed the Reds’ squad decided to have a discussion after the loss at Southampton nearly a fortnight ago.
He said:
“We lost against Southampton a week or so ago – the next day we had a meeting and the boys had their say as well. So we are in a place where we want to be. We know what we have to do. We know what went wrong. We know what we want to change.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Hopefully, it’ll prove a productive chat.
The Reds should be on top of the table in all truth, having dropped points against the likes of West Brom, Newcastle United and Fulham in recent weeks.
There’s no point dwelling on that now, though, and hopefully those results will be used as a catalyst for better performances in the second half of the season.
Certainly, beating Manchester United on Sunday afternoon would be a fine way to get back on track so let’s see how they respond.
