“Ralph is organising a proper team.

“They’re really well organised. Very well-drilled team. We need to be creative to break them down, they don’t conced many shots on target.

“We need to find solutions for these kind of things.

“It is a home game and I hope we use that and enjoy that.

“We know about the job and what we have to do. They have a big advantage that we played midweek and they didn’t.”

On Ralf Rangnick

“Unfortunately a good coach is coming to England.

“A really experienced manager, built two clubs from nowhere into proper forces in Germany (Leipzig and Hoffenheim).

“Done a lot of jobs but his first concern was always being a coach.

“This is not good news for other teams.

“A really good man and an outstanding coach.

“Very highly regarded by the coaches. He has done incredible jobs.

“Kostas (Tsimikas) is pushing (Andy) Robertson. But Robbo is Robbo.

“People forgot how good Robbo, and Kostas is good as well. Now we have different solutions which is good.

“Owen Beck is coming up which is a good prospect.

“Really happy about the development but Robbo is Robbo, an outstanding player.

“We can’t trust people and then not the next day, we have to trust them long term.”

On what Liverpool’s best looks like

“To be where we want to be we need good balance in the team.

“We conceded in some games too many, that’s how it is.

“We need to be a well balanced team, we need to take a good risk but need to protect our defence.

“I don’t compare us with the team of last year or the year before, I just want us to be our best.”

On the quality of the Premier League

“Massively improved, it’s made steps every year.

“The improvement of not only us but the teams slightly below, like Brighton who are playing especially well.

“The league is so strong.”
