Liverpool will be aiming to keep their faint hopes of finishing in the top four when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Here is what he had to say when he faced the media on Wednesday.
“Great achievement.
“I texted Pep last night and already texted Ilkay (Gündogan).
“A very difficult year for the whole world and what they achieved so far this season is exceptional. If you have financial resources and football knowledge, you have a good chance.
“You can beat them but you have to be on your top to beat them.
“We have done that from time to time but obviously not this season.”
“They have a good mix, age-wise.
“Offensive potential, Rashford is young and experienced, Greenwood, exceptional. One of the best of his generation.
“What a generation of England offensive players! They play some really good stuff. They will be second. A good season.
“Playing against United in a full stadium is a tough task, so is playing them in an empty stadium.
“Who will have an advantage? I don’t know.”
“Henderson injury completely different thing, he doesn’t play at moment and doesn’t train normally.
“It’ll be a decision between Gareth (Southgate) and Hendo but I think there’s a chance – unfortunately not for us.”
“An injury like that takes 11 months normally.
“The plan for us is that he starts pre-season for us but even then not sure.
“Euros were in absolutely wrong moment. When he is fit, he will be 100%.
“He’s made big steps and got more positive.
“I never wanted to cut the Euros off but I always knew [it was tough].
“The pressure is now off Virgil and he can focus on the right things at the right moment.”
“Our plan was to win all the games, so we won’t change that.
“Do we have to take more risks when it’s a draw? Possible but not planned now.
“If you play a game and think only about attacking, you have lost before the first whistle.
“We don’t blame anyone but ourselves.
“Now we need help from other teams (to get into Champions League), but it’s the best we could get and we will deal with that.”
