Jurgen Klopp made nine changes to the side who beat Crystal Palace last weekend, including handing debuts for teenagers Kaide Gordon and Conor Bradley.

The visitors led after four minutes when Minamino produced a sharp turn and finish past Angus Gunn.

Norwich were denied an equaliser just before half-time when Caoimhin Kelleher saved Christos Tzolis' penalty with his foot.

Origi doubled the lead shortly after the break by heading home Kosta Tsimikas' cross.

Japan international Minamino then put the game to bed with ten minutes remaining.

Speaking after the match, Klopp said he had no doubts about the quality of depth in his squad.

"I was never in doubt [about the strength in depth]," the German told Liverpool Echo.

"Bobby trained yesterday so he will be back soon. We have 2 mids out and we should make sure that number doesn't get bigger but the start of the season was good for the whole squad. A lot more to come."

On the performance, Klopp added: "Not perfect for good reasons. We had to make too many changes to have natural solutions for the problems.

"Started really well, really aggressive, really lively, but we didn't train that as some decisions were made late.

"The kids did exceptionally well. All three really strong. A big surprise they could go 94 minutes."
