Klopp delivers verdict on Leicester title chances as Liverpool prepare for clash | OneFootball

Jurgen Klopp has labelled Leicester City ‘contenders for everything’ as the two sides prepare to meet this evening at Anfield in the Premier League.

The Reds can go above the Foxes with a win later tonight but it is highly unlikely that they would take top spot along with that, given the inferior goal difference the club currently has compared to Spurs.

Even so, points on the board is what matters at the moment and a win over the Foxes would certainly be a good message to send to the rest of the league, particularly with the current defensive issues the Reds have injury wise.

Indeed, a result against Leicester would also send a direct message to them in the title race, with Klopp evidently feeling they are in the picture this season.

He said, via the Liverpool Echo:

“They showed it last year how good they can be. Changed styles slightly. Dealt really well with injuries. Good example (of) how to deal with an injury crisis. A clear way of how they want to play. They are contenders for everything.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

The Foxes were title contenders for a period last season too, of course, but the Reds eventually pulled away from the rest of the table and won at a canter.

That seems harder to do this year thanks to the nature of the campaign and it is certainly congested at the top at the moment.

A win is always a good result, though, and Klopp will be looking to get that this evening.
