ESTAC Troyes, currently 13th in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, announced the signature of coach Patrick Kisnorbo - fresh from runaway success with Melbourne City in Australia's A-League - to replace the sacked Bruno Irles on Wednesday.

ESTAC Troyes have a new coach. The club, currently 13th in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, announced on Wednesday that they have appointed Australian Patrick Kisnorbo as new head coach. The technician, who succeeds Bruno Irles, has signed a contract until 2025, as stated by ESTAC in a press release.

A first in the Big 5 The 41-year-old former central defender, who played for Leicester City and Leeds United, was previously in charge of ESTAC's City Football Group partner club Melbourne City, a club he led to its first national championship title in 2021. A former Aussie international (18 caps), Patrick Kisnorbo is the first Australian coach to sit on a Ligue 1 Uber Eats bench - and the first Australian to helm a club in one of Europe's five major leagues.
