Víctor Manuel Vucetich was left frustrated as Chivas drew their second successive game to start the Guard1anes 2021 campaign.

Jesús Molina powered in a header to put the Flock ahead in the 23rd minute of their home opener at the Estadio Akron.

However, Kevin Castañeda drew the visitors level just two minutes later and Toluca held on to gain a worthy point on their travels.

Manager Vucetich was happy with the efforts of his side, but lamented their inability to find a winner.

“The team tried. The first half was not as we wanted, however we corrected a bit in the second half,” the 65-year-old said.

“Some changes were made that made for greater understanding between the players, but the goal was missing.

“We had opportunities and we did not know how to capitalise on them. We tried to make the movements to be different from what we normally play.”

On the whole, though, ‘King Midas’ believes he is seeing improvement from Los Rojiblancos.

“I think that the team is starting to pick up on the last tournament, the point is not what we would like, but the action improves and that is good.”

Chivas will look to register their first win of the season when they go away to Atlético San Luis on Thursday.
