FC Bayern’s form curve has clearly pointed upwards in recent matches. A title triumph in the Champions League could salvage a botched season for Munich. Even though the title in the premier class is within reach, FCB star Joshua Kimmich is very cautious.

„Everyone in Europe has to be wary of us,“ explained Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen after the clash with FC Arsenal, emphasising at the same time that „the dead live longer“. After the strong performance against Arsenal, President Herbert Hainer also confidently emphasised that Munich „can now make it to the final“.

Munich have surprised many fans and experts by reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. While those in charge at the German record champions are eager to attack, Joshua Kimmich is holding back with title predictions: „At the moment, we are still a long way from being able to say that we will win the Champions League,“ the 29-year-old made clear in an interview with BILD.

Kimmich hopes for a happy ending

The defensive all-rounder is nevertheless hoping for a happy ending and is firmly convinced that Bayern have not yet reached their top form: „I think it’s still possible to achieve a small turnaround, find our form and hold our own against the best teams in Europe.“

Kimmich and Co. will face Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals. The first leg will take place at home in the Allianz Arena on 30 April. On 8 May, Munich will play at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
