After an even first half, the hosts stepped up the tempo in the second half, hitting the post twice inside one second half minute and keeping Arsenal’s creative players quiet.

And the pressure eventually told just after the hour mark, when a cross from Raphaël Guerreiro crossed in for Kimmich to bury a bullet header past David Raya, and put his side on course for the next round.

It was his first goal in the Champions League this season, and his first for Bayern since 2024.
