Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall close to signing new long-term Leicester City deal
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is close to signing a new, long-term Leicester City contract, 90min understands.
The late-blooming midfielder enjoyed a breakout 2021/22 campaign, making 44 appearances in all competitions and emerging as a contender for the club's player of the year award, before eventually losing out to James Maddison.
Dewsbury-Hall's current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season and Leicester are understandably eager to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.
90min understands that the Foxes are close to doing exactly that, with the 23-year-old set to sign a fresh long-term contract soon. Talks have been going on since the end of the season.
This breakthrough follows Ricardo Pereira extending his contract in February and Wesley Fofana penning terms until 2027 in March.
However, as reported by 90min, Leicester have not been able to convince Youri Tielemans to sign a new deal. The Belgian's current deal expires at the end of 2022/23 season and the club have long accepted that he will be leaving this summer.
Arsenal are confident of signing Tielemans with the two clubs currently haggling over a deal. The Gunners want to pay in the region of £25m but Leicester are holding out for closer to £30m.
Tielemans could not be the only midfielder departing the East Midlands this summer either. Hamza Choudhury is set to be allowed to leave on loan this summer and 90min understands that Middlesbrough are among the sides interested.
