Newcastle United registered a thumping 4-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League. They are now preparing for their next game which is lined up against Brentford in the EPL Cup quarter-final round this week.
The Magpies faced a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Brentford when they faced them a couple of weeks ago. Hence, they would like to avenge that loss by overpowering them in this fixture and also advance ahead in the tournament.
Defence
With Nick Pope sidelined for some time due to a knee injury, Martin Dubravka should be ready to step up for the team once again. Right-back Tino Livramento wasn’t convincing enough and that should open the gates for Kieran Trippier.
The centre-back duo of Dan Burn and Fabian Schar remain intact. They will have a large role to play if the Magpies want to clinch the victory. Lewis Hall retains his spot as the exclusive left-back in the lineup.

Midfield
In-form Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali continue to provide services in the middle of the park. Notably, Joelinton picked up a yellow card in the previous game to earn a suspension. However, he will be available to take onto the field as it’s a cup fixture and the suspension doesn’t carry over here.
Alexander Isak had a crazy game on his previous outing and he would like to repeat his heroics against Brentford. In a surprising change, Harvey Barnes might get the nod ahead of Jacob Murphy for the right wing with Anthony Gordon providing his services from the other flank.
The likes of Emil Krafth, Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Nick Pope, and Callum Wilson are unavailable for selection due to injuries.
