Kieran Tierney is set to miss the rest of the season and potentially Scotland’s World Cup play-off with Ukraine.

The Athletic have reported that Tierney will undergo knee surgery later this week with the defender likely to be out for at least two months.

Tierney came back from international duty with a knee complaint which will now have to be operated on.

Whilst there has been no official word from Arsenal, club boss Mikel Arteta did admit before their defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday that Tierney’s situation was “not good.”

Tierney will now have to sit out the rest of the club season with Arsenal fighting for fourth, while his nation will take on Ukraine and then, if victorious, Wales with a chance to go to Qatar.
