Bayern Munich are interested in bringing AC Milan target Joshua Zirkzee back to the club this summer despite reports suggesting that they hold no interest in the Dutchman.
According to German outlet Kicker (via Pianeta Milan), the current Bundesliga champions have not shut the door on Zirkzee and could still use the buy-back clause that they hold.
It had been suggested by La Gazzetta dello Sport that despite having the clause, Bayern are not interested in Zirkzee and it is just Serie A and Premier League sides that are in the hunt.
Despite Zirkzee surely being with much more than this thanks to a great season, Bayern can make a bid of €40m for him and Bologna will have to accept it. This means that if Bayern do want him and the player is keen, Milan and everyone else are out of the fight. Zirkzee is one of many strikers that Milan are interested in.
If Bayern really are interested in Zirkzee, then the power really lies with the player. He may not be interested in heading back to Bayern considering it did not work out originally, and Harry Kane is undoubtedly the first-choice striker.
The club will be after more firepower given they are set to lose the title to Bayer Leverkusen come the end of the season.
