The Blades take on West Brom in the opening round of the League Cup.

The winner of Thursday evening’s clash will earn a chance to compete at Pride Park against Derby County in the second round.

United come into the game off the back of a weekend victory over Millwall.

With one eye on Sunday’s Championship fixture with Middlesbrough, a few changes can be expected from Heckingbottom tonight.

But there are still a number of injuries keeping players out of action, such as Jack Robinson, Jack O’Connell, Tommy Doyle, Oli McBurnie and Enda Stevens all unavailable.

We may see a first start for both Reda Khadra and James McAtee in the side following their arrivals from Brighton and Manchester City respectively.
