Key Real Madrid star a major doubt for Club World Cup opener after missing training | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has emerged as a sudden doubt to feature in the club’s meeting with Al-Hilal this week.

That’s according to El Chiringuito TV, among others, who point towards Kylian Mbappé as the player in question.

Frontman Mbappé, for his part, had been pencilled in for his first starting berth under the watch of new Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso on Wednesday evening.

This comes as Los Blancos prepare for a Club World Cup opening round fixture against Saudi outfit Al-Hilal.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Alonso’s camp on Tuesday is anything to go by, then Mbappé’s participation in Miami is now very much up in the air.

As per a report from Edu Aguirre of El Chiringuito TV:

‘Kylian Mbappé is not training due to a fever and is doubtful for the Club World Cup debut.’
