Transfer News: Manchester United target Harry Kane could be on the move post Euros

Speaking to BBC Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United target, Harry Kane has hinted that he could be on the move this summer once the Euros comes to an end.

The English skipper went into the Euros after yet another trophyless season with Tottenham Hotspur. With him open to a move, the likes of United and Manchester City among others are all on alert.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in a new striker this summer. Despite Edinson Cavani extending his contract, the Red Devils appear keen to reinforce their attack. This is understandable given the poor form shown by Anthony Martial.

In spite of Spurs’ difficulties, Kane is coming off an excellent season from a personal point of view. He led the Premier League in both goals scored and assists made last season. (h/t BBC)

He had a forgettable outing for England and Croatia and was taken off in the second half without scoring a goal. Speaking prior to the game, he refused to admit that the speculation is currently affecting his performances. He went on to add that his focus is now on the tournament and everything else will have to wait until it is over.

“It’s been ok. I’m sure I’ll get asked about it a lot but my most important thing is trying to win a major tournament with England. The rest of the stuff will happen obviously when I get back from the tournament but for now that’s all I’m focused on.”

One of the world’s best players, Kane will give the United squad a massive boost. He will, however, not come cheap and Daniel Levy will do what he can to make life difficult during negotiations.

Securing the Englishman will give us the infallible scorer we have looked for a while. Cavani is an impactful player but it will be unreasonable to expect him to start every game, especially given his age. Securing Kane will make life easier for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Signing Kane will give either of the Manchester clubs a massive boost in terms of their attack. With United keen to close the gap on City, we cannot afford to let Pep Guardiola’s side trump us to the striker.
