Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has confirmed there is interest in Harry Cornick and he couldn’t guarantee the forward would remain at Kenilworth Road beyond the January deadline.
The 27-year-old has been subject of interest from Swansea City and Bristol City ahead of what could be a busy few days involving the Hatters, who saw Cameron Jerome depart recently as well.
And, speaking to Luton Today, Edwards admitted there are suitors after Cornick, although he insists the squad will look in good shape by Tuesday night.
“There is interest there, but what I will say on it is Corns is someone I admire, I love working with him. He’s a good footballer, we’re going to have interest in some of our players. What I have to stress now is that I believe we will be in a really good position come the end of this window.
“I don’t know exactly what will happen, but the club’s ambitious, I’m ambitious. The big message I need to stress though is what we don’t want is the club to be where they have been in their recent past. When I came to this football club I knew we were going to live within some financial constraints because that’s what has got the club the success over the last 12 years.”

The verdict
It promises to be an interesting period for Luton who are expecting both incomings and outgoings before the deadline.
Clearly, there is a decision to be made over Cornick and whilst he hasn’t been prolific this season, he would be missed both on the pitch and in the dressing room if he does depart.
But, as Edwards says, there needs to be trust in what they’re trying to do and he will want to use these few days to bring his own signings in.
