Former Roma man Kevin Strootman received a special welcome to the Stadio Olimpico last night.

In what could possibly turn out to be his last time as a footballer in his old stadium, Strootman was greeted by a loud ovation from the sold-out crowd of Roma supporters.

Upon his exit from the pitch, Strootman met with his former teammate, Daniele De Rossi, and thanked the fans for their support, applauding their chants in his name.

After the match, the Dutch midfielder who played for the Giallorossi for 5 years between 2013 and 2018, sent a message to the fans on Twitter.

“Simply thank you, thank you, thank you,” wrote the ex-Roma player.
