Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne will return to training in the coming days.
The Belgium international had played just half-an-hour of football this season when he damaged his knee ligament during a training session in mid-August.
The player has indicated he should be fit for the Manchester derby on November 11 and the club hope he will be back after the next international break, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Revealing the player’s rehabilitation is going well, Guardiola told reporters ahead of the clash with Brighton: “He’s making the last steps. He starts training in part of the sessions with us in the next days. Everything is going well.
“Now he’s injured, he’s not a problem with physical condition, he’s quick. He’s injured and when he’s OK he’s coming back and when he decides to play he’s going to play.”
City have coped well without one of their main playmakers, winning five of their six Premier League matches though they did suffer defeat to Lyon in the Champions League.
