Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is a ‘major doubt‘ for the Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield on February 7th, following a small ‘hamstring tear‘ sustained against Aston Villa on Wednesday night, according to an exclusive from the 9320 Podcast.

The Belgian was forced off the field midway through the second-half, replaced by Gabriel Jesus as Pep Guardiola went in search of a winning goal in a game that was tied at 0-0 at that stage.

Many did notice at the time that De Bruyne left the field in some discomfort, although the precise moment when he may have sustained his small hamstring tear is difficult to pinpoint.

The Belgian international winced as he left the field, and additional details on the problem have now come to light courtesy of an exclusive report from independent Manchester City podcast, NinetyThreeTwenty.

The situation surrounding Kevin De Bruyneaccording to 9320, is that he will be sidelined for around two to three weeks – becoming a ‘major doubt‘ for the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on February 7th.

As for the injury itself, 9320 report that the Belgian international has sustained a small ‘hamstring tear‘ – and it is possibly unsurprising to some given the relentless fixture schedule that Manchester City have had to endure over the winter period.

De Bruyne will join Sergio Aguero out of the Manchester City team – who remains in isolation after confirming on social media on Thursday afternoon that he had tested positive for the virus.

Kyle Walker looks also to be set for a period on the sidelines, after he was replaced in the first-half of City’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
