Manchester City are set for crunch contract talks with Kevin De Bruyne amid fresh interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

The 32-year-old made his Premier League return against Newcastle United at St James’ Park earlier this month, following a five-month absence due to a hamstring injury which required surgery.

De Bruyne helped Manchester City to a vital victory on Tyneside, scoring the equaliser with a superb strike prior to assisting Oscar Bobb’s last-gasp winning goal.

The midfielder is currently the longest-serving member of the Manchester City squad, having moved to the Etihad Stadium prior to the arrival of manager Pep Guardiola.

De Bruyne has helped the Blues to 14 trophies, including five Premier League titles and a maiden UEFA Champions League, with the Belgium international contracted at the club until 2025.

The Belgian star has scored 97 goals for Manchester City and registered over 100 Premier League assists, but has become the latest player to be subject to transfer interest from the Saudi Arabia.

De Bruyne has reportedly been approached regarding a £1-million-per-week contract, with Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal expressing an interest in signing the midfielder.

Manchester City are preparing to offer De Bruyne a fresh contract amid interest from the Middle East, with Simon Mullock reporting that the club want to reward the 32-year-old with a one-year extension.

Etihad chiefs are looking to ‘strike a deal’ which will take the midfielder’s stay at the club to over a decade, with a new contract until 2026.

De Bruyne currently earns £375,000 -a-week, with the veteran midfielder ‘loving’ life at Manchester City and his young family calling Manchester home.

The 32-year-old could be set to make just his second Manchester City start of the season next week, when the Sky Blues travel to Tottenham in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round.

De Bruyne marked his return in the third round, featuring during a sweeping win over Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium.
