Kevin Campbell reacts amid West Ham transfer interest in Millwall star | OneFootball

An exclusive Football League World report on Friday stated that West Ham were a club interested in Millwall playmaker Jed Wallace.

The report also mentioned that Burnley, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, and Brentford were providing The Hammers with some Premier League competition.

Adding to the interest in the 27-year-old, Celtic and Rangers were also named in the report, whilst West Brom were also credited with an interest.

Wallace has been an extremely important player for Millwall over the past few years, netting 20 and assisting 19 in the past two seasons.

Starting the new campaign just as strong, Wallace has three goals and two assists in his opening six games with the London club.

Kevin Campbell has spoken to Football Insider about the prospect of West Ham signing the 27-year-old: “Wallace is a solid Championship player. What David Moyes does is go for good, solid players who he can rely on.

“We have seen that with the signings of Bowen etc. That is really important for Moyes.

“He wants players who step up when the chips are down. He doesn’t want players who go missing when things start to go pear-shaped. Jed Wallace is a seasoned professional and I think he’d be a great signing for West Ham, just like Bowen.”

Wallace has been a consistent performer for The Lions in recent years, proving to be involved in every forward move Millwall put together.

His ability to beat a man and produce something in the final third has made him one of the Championship’s best players in recent times.

As well as being a technically gifted footballer, who can operate in multiple roles, he also has the tenacity and determination to put in the hard yards for his team.

Wallace deserves a chance in the Premier League, and out of the teams who are showing an interest, West Ham seem like the most suitable employers.
