Chloe Kelly says she’s currently loving life at City after we extended our unbeaten run to 16 matches in all competitions thanks to the win overLeicester.

The 25-year-old netted our second in the 2-0 victory over Willie Kirk’s side at the King Power Stadium, following Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s opener.

The effort showcased her phenomenal ability as she cut onto her left foot with ease before rifling into the far corner.

The strike represented her first Barclays Women’s Super League goal of the season and her second goal in as many games after netting in our FA Cup victory over Sheffield United last time out.

And Kelly explained how Gareth Taylor’s style of play is allowing her to flourish in sky blue.

“I think it’s all about confidence. I’m playing free now and I’m enjoying my football,” she said.

“It’s great to play with Filippa [Angeldahl] she makes things easy for me and Bunny [Shaw], she gets her head on the crosses as well.

“So, yeah I’m really enjoying my football and as soon as it ran on the outside I I thought ‘this is the space I want to run in’ and trust my left foot and hit to low as the ‘keeper was saving everything high.

“Yeah it was a great performance from the Leicester keeper, and it was hard to break down, we just had to stick with it and we knew the goal would come.

Up next for City is a trip to Arsenal on Wednesday 8 February in the Continental Cup semi-final – before facing the Gunners in the WSL three days later.

For Kelly, a meeting with the north London side is always extra special after progressing through their youth ranks and representing them before moving to Everton in 2018.

And the electric winger is relishing the challenge of a double header against her former club.

She added: “I think it’s always great to play against Arsenal, it’s always a tough battle. We know we have to turn up and with it being my old club it’s extra special for me to go and play there.

“I always want to win there, of course. Hopefully we can get the job done in midweek, then we have a home game - 16 unbeaten now so we’re really happy.

“I think we’re taking each game as it comes. And we know the performances we’re putting in is building so much confidence.

“We have a great depth in our squad and we know midweek there’s a tough game and we have to recover and go again.

“So taking each game as it comes, we’re still confident in the league because our performances are brilliant at the minute and we’re scoring a lot of goals.

“I think we need to keep that momentum and keep pushing forward and hopefully be there come the end of the season."
