As we enter the final rundown of fixtures in the SWPL, it couldn’t be any tighter at the top of the league, with all still to play for.

Each game is as important as the next, and that was certainly the case as Celtic FC Women welcomed Glasgow City to the Excelsior Stadium on Wednesday night.

With Elena Sadiku’s side looking to maintain top spot, it was another entertaining evening as the Ghirls played out a 2-2 draw in Airdrie .

That result saw the Celts keep their place at the top of the league, with just four games left to play.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Captain Kelly Clark said: “I thought we played alright for the most part. It’s always disappointing not to get three points, but considering we had a tough game at the weekend, I thought the girls were fantastic.

"The fact we were able to dig deep and find energy, even though we had that game at the weekend.

“Coming back from a goal down, it could have been very easy for us to crumble after the performance we put in at the weekend, but we didn't

‘We put in a pretty decent performance that we can hopefully build on.’

“We were playing against one of the top teams in the country, four days after playing against one of the other top teams in the country, on different surfaces.

“Glasgow City didn’t have a game at the weekend, so anybody seeing us go 1-0 down so early on would have feared for us.

“But fair play to the girls, they dug in. We didn’t stress when we went a goal down, and I think the performance was probably enough to have got us three points on another night.

“But we didn’t do enough to keep a clean sheet. So we go with the one point.”

There is another huge game on the horizon for the Ghirls now as they prepare to travel to face Rangers on Monday (May 6).

With the Celts currently leading the way at the top of the SWPL, it is gearing up to be another thrilling afternoon of action with a crucial three points up for grabs.

For Clark and her team-mates, no matter the result on Wednesday, the objective always remains the same going into each game, eyeing up victory at Broadwood Stadium.

“That is what we just said in the changing room, tonight’s result doesn’t change what happens next week," she said.

“We are in the exact same position, we have to win. We want to win every game that we play, so whether we win tonight or are walking away with a draw, I really don’t think it changes that much.”
