Kelechi Iheanacho heading to Turkey?

After a disappointing season at Sevilla, Kelechi Iheanacho has caught the attention of Samsunspor, who are ready to table a €3.5 million offer for the striker.

The 28-year-old Nigerian forward joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer following the end of his contract with Leicester, but he never truly managed to impress. In six months, he scored just three goals—all in the cup, and all against modest opposition. A loan spell at Middlesbrough did little to revive his form.

Back in Sevilla this summer, Kelechi Iheanacho is among the players the club is actively looking to offload to reduce the wage bill. With an annual salary estimated at €1.2 million, his contract is a heavy burden for the club, which still hasn’t been able to register its latest signings. At Samsunspor, Iheanacho would become one of the marquee names; for Sevilla, his departure would be a financial relief.
