Rangers will play Fenerbahce at Ibrox on Thursday night in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 clash.

The Gers produced a heroic performance in the first leg in Turkey, earning a 3-1 win over Fenerbahce. A draw will be enough to advance to the next round.

Jose Mourinho’s side are expected to react strongly, but Rangers will start as big favourites at Ibrox. The atmosphere will be electrifying, and a special performance from the visitors will be needed to knock Rangers out of the tie.

Keith Jackson says that the Bears can expect Fenerbahce to come up with a “different attitude”, but a goal or two from Rangers should see them pick up a famous win. He has predicted a 2-2 draw.

He wrote for the Daily Record: “Jose Mourinho is not likely to go quietly which means Rangers should expect a different attitude from Fenerbahce in the second leg.

“But that won’t make them any better able to cope with the Rangers counter-attack. A goal or two for Barry Ferguson’s side should see them complete a famous KO.”

Rangers fans will be super charged up for this game after a dreadful domestic campaign.

The Gers will be looking for a new manager in the summer, and Barry Ferguson could be in the running. A victory over Jose Mourinho’s side will enhance his case for the permanent role.

Vaclav Cerny scored twice in the first leg, while Cyriel Dessers added another. Dessers was absolutely outstanding in the previous game, and Fenerbahce had no answers for how to stop him.

Fenerbahce will have to come up with attacking intent, which means Rangers can punish them on the counter-attack.
