Dino Toppmöller oversaw 20 players in training on Wednesday, despite Mario Götze being sidelined with a cold. Philipp Max gave us an insight into how things are progressing.
The Eintracht players who are not away on international duty logged a tough training session in Frankfurt on Wednesday. “We want to keep the rhythm going – we’re absolutely on the right track and we want to stick to it and maintain our focus,” said Philipp Max, looking ahead to the coming days. Head coach Dino Toppmöller had 20 players out on the pitch on Wednesday morning, including Marcel Wenig, Davis Bautista, Dario Gebuhr, Nnamdi Collins and Noel Futkeu, with Max saying that “the youngsters really did their job well”. Mario Götze on the other hand was forced to miss out as he is suffering from a cold. There were three goalkeepers involved in the session – Jens Grahl, Kauã Santos and also Simon Simoni, who is back after his elbow injury.
The team’s next match on the calendar is the Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart at 18.30 CET on Saturday 25 November at the Deutsche Bank Park. “I’m looking ahead with a really positive outlook,” said Max. “We’ve got the feeling now that we can take on any team and win. Home or away, we’re up for every match and want to give it all we’ve got. We want to pick up against Stuttgart where we left off [before the international break].”
