This game against Burnley on Saturday is a must win for Newcastle United.

Then we have 23 cup finals.

As it stands, Newcastle United are only two games (six points) away from safety.

Yes, teams above us will win and we will need to keep up, but relegation and promotion is not decided before Christmas, never has been.

Some of the clubs above Newcastle United are going to have a bad run in the New Year.

If NUFC can add the right players in the transfer window on top of improving those already in the squad, as Eddie Howe has clearly done with a number of players already, we will capitalise on that.

We have the best fans in the world.

We have owners who respect us and want to work with supporters to help move this great club forward after the Ashley years.

A manager who knows what he’s doing.

We have players who at last are showing willing and are of a different mindset than when Bruce was in charge.

We have a lot more going for us now than many other clubs in the Premier League, certainly those others who are set to be fighting relegation.

The reality is 24 games and 72 points to play for, that’s how we have to look at it.

Also, the dirty tactics of the Premier League and the other 19 clubs in the top tier only makes us more determined to stay up.

With that and the fighting spirit we saw on Tuesday, Newcastle United won’t go down.

I’m putting my bet on today, keep the faith and never give up.
