Moise Kean will stay with Juventus for the foreseeable future after his loan transfer to Atletico Madrid fell through at the final stage.

The 23-year-old Italian striker was just a step away from joining Diego Simeone’s side on a six-month loan deal with no buy option attached. He completed his medicals in the Spanish capital, which raised some red flags for Atletico, whose medical staff believe he’ll be out injured for another month.

Atletico ultimately decided not to sign Kean on loan, forcing him to return to Juventus. Some reports suggested that he could still leave on loan for the second half of this season, with the player keen for regular playing time in the lead up to the European Championship in the summer.

As reported by TMW, Juventus have now decided to keep Kean for the time being and will retain him in the squad for the remainder of the season. He’ll complete his recovery in Turin before returning to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad once fit.

The 23-year-old, who is contracted to the Old Lady to June 2025, hasn’t scored for the club since the 1-0 win over Hellas Verona at the start of April last year.
