On settling down in Terrigal:

“It’s so nice here. We’ve got the mix of the beach and little things to do.”

The quality of training:

“I think it’s so good being here to challenge myself in training. Going up against the likes of Kiera Walsh and Georgia Stanway every single day in training, two of the best midfielders in Europe in my eyes. It’s a nice test and great to see all different styles of play come together.”

On Sarina Wiegman:

The main thing about Sarina is that she’s a people person, she likes to connect with players and bring the best out of everyone. I think you could see that in the Euros. Coming into this tournament she has wanted to make everyone feel at their best.”

On Denmark’s team:

“I think they’ll be tough; they are a really organised and physical team. We know a lot of girls from the Women’s Super League, but we are still focusing on our game.”

On how she announced being selected for the Women’s World Cup:

“I phoned my mum and dad first. They were both at work and my dad didn’t pick up. He’s a window cleaner so whenever I ring him, he’s up a ladder! My mum went “You’ve been selected, haven’t you?”, I was smiling so much, she knew straight away.”

On her thoughts going into every game:

“It depends on the opposition, but it was really exciting playing against Haiti. A team we have never come up against, but that’s the beauty of a World Cup. You can experience different styles of play and play against players you never have before.”

On her mentality and never giving up:

“Main thing is to believe in yourself. There are always setbacks and knockbacks. For me, not being selected for the Euros was a setback. But it was always believing that I had the ability and channelling it in the right way for the next season.“
