The work is done and the stage is set for trophy day at Celtic Park tomorrow afternoon, where a packed-out Paradise will watch the Celts lift their fourth consecutive league title.
It is a title which was officially wrapped up at the end of April after the Hoops’ 5-0 victory at Tannadice and one which comes as a result of Brendan Rodgers’ side’s class and consistency throughout the campaign.
However, for Cetic’s No.1, Kasper Schmeichel, there will be no let-up in the intensity or focus as the champions prepare for their final league match of the season against St Mirren.
Speaking to media at the club’s Lennoxtown training centre today, the Denmark internationalist explained that the Celts’ main focus tomorrow afternoon is on delivering a good performance and a victory before stepping up to the podium to lift the trophy.
“I’ve seen a few [Celtic Park trophy days] from the outside,” he said. “So to be a part of one will be a great experience. I’m looking forward to it.
“For us, the game is the important bit. It’s about finishing the season strong, finishing like champions and making sure we do our jobs right.
“That’s been the focus in training this week, the topic of our conversation has been not wanting to finish and get a trophy having not played well, so full focus is on the game to win.
“That’s what I love about this team. Every single day you feel that hunger and desire.
“People will say that it looks easy from the outside, but that’s because we sometimes make it look easy because of the work we put in.
‘That’s why we’re champions, because we work harder than anybody else.’
“Hunger and desire to work hard is everything. We put in an incredible amount of effort.
“Not just the players but the staff, everyone around the club, the whole club has to be in synergy otherwise you don’t win.”
Schmeichel, of course, has experience of lifting a league title, having picked up the English Premiership trophy with Leicester City back in 2016.
And, reflecting on that triumph, Schmeichel touched on the hard work that goes in to winning a title at any club, as he praised the champions’ first team and the manager.
He added: “Iin a normal career it’s not a common thing to win trophies all the time, so each one is very special.
“Each one has its own characteristics, but the comparisons and similarities are always the same.
“It starts with a good, solid group of guys who are incredibly disciplined, incredibly hard working and led by a manager who has a vision and a clear idea of how he wants to play.
“And most of all, the only thing that will win you anything is hard work, and if you don’t have that hard work ethic, then you won’t win anything.
“So I think the comparisons that I can draw are between the groups of players, built on good, solid characters but most of all the foundations are hard work.”
