Kasanwirjo shines but Rangers are being warned about his price

Rangers fans are today celebrating the performance of summer signing Neraysho Kasanwirjo after the defender nailed two assists for his national side at U21 qualifying.

The Dutch stopper, 22, has sparingly featured for Philippe Clement’s men since joining on loan from Eredivisie giants Feyenoord, but has impressed with most of his displays for the Famous thus far, and it seems he is taking that form to the national stage with his country.

Kasanwirjo has a current market value of barely £1.5M and Rangers are being urged to secure the option to buy as soon as possible given continued performances of that quality will likely drive his price up.

The hope is the option to buy includes a set price that Rangers have secured at a modest level, because the Amsterdam-born defender would be a shrewd addition if the club was able to grab him at a low price.

He was completely surplus at the De Kuip, having made just 9 appearances with barely 300 minutes for the Rotterdam side, and had had a previous loan in Austria with Rapid Wien.

It is hoped his expendability to the Dutch side will help with cost, and Rangers will be able to snag him for a song next summer.

Of course, many Rangers fans note he is unlikely to play a tonne with James Tavernier being at RB at present, but the boy is versatile and secured his two assists last night from left back of all places.

He is also experienced in midfield, which is where Ibrox Noise assumed he was indeed being signed for.

Either way, we hope Rangers have a price set already because continued good displays will see that number likely spike!
