That is according to a report from L’Equipe, now supported by The Athletic, ahead of the club’s Champions League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Frenchman’s contract expires in June, but he’s now set to stay until 2024.

It is a signature Los Blancos will be keen to announce as official in coming weeks with the future of Luka Modric, Nacho and Toni Kroos also up in the air.

Benzema is currently the club’s second-highest scorer ever, with 341 goals in 632 appearances only behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
