For over a decade, Karim Benzema has been finding the back of the net for Real Madrid and has managed to hit a new personal best.
The Frenchman hasn’t been his best in recent weeks as age and injuries remain a factor. But he’s erased a poor run after six matches in all competitions without a goal against Rayo Vallecano.
Benzema sniffed out a quick team move following a drop ball and rounded Stole Dimitrievski for the breakthrough.
It means he has scored 30+ goals in three consecutive seasons for the first time in his career and the fifth time for Los Blancos overall.
Tonight there’s no Vinícius Júnior tonight as the Brazilian sits in the Bernabéu seats with a slight injury, but the duo’s partnership has been key for Benzema’s goal tally.
It could have been 2-0 just before the break too but Dimitrievski’s hand denied the Frenchman.
