"I'm looking forward to the first few games, I'm looking forward to the Bundesliga and getting the season started with such an awesome team," said Karim Adeyemi in today's media session.
Karim Adeyemi on training camp:''The first week was really exhausting for all of us, but the intensity was very good. It's fun to play with the lads here. This is how pre-season should be.''
…the fight for positions:"It's the same in every club, everyone wants to get playing time. That's why I'm focused on integrating myself into the team and developing my game. I hope to get minutes under my belt and put in some good performances. And the most important thing is to win games, of course."
…young players at BVB:''Getting playing time is important for a youngster. I wouldn't have come if I hadn't seen the opportunity. That was a factor in my decision to move to Dortmund.''
…the playing style:''We want to be dominant at the start of the season, to dominate other teams. Playing the game at a fast pace is also part of that. That's one of my roles in the team, to cause danger with my speed.''
...his role in the team:"It's important for me to be used offensively, whether it be as a striker or on the wing.''
…defensive work:"In football today, the strikers are the first line of defence. That's something you have to work on in training. We are the first to press. We are the ones who have to put in a shift when we're being outplayed."
…adapting to the Bundesliga:"I hope it won't take long. I consider myself a player who can adapt quickly to different playing styles and a step-up in quality. I'm optimistic and I hope to start the season well and help the team."
…his role model Marco Reus: "It's still a bit strange to be on the pitch with him. It's amazing, especially when I think back to how I used to play with him on FIFA and now I'm in the same team as him. He is an outstanding player who has made a huge impact on the Bundesliga and the club. He's a very cool guy, I get on really well with him. I hope everything goes just as well once the season starts."Transcribed by Christina Reinke
