There were two Premier League games to enjoy on Monday night as the weekend action concluded.
This is what went down.
Scorers: Son 76′
Tottenham left it late against Burnley to return to winning ways in the league and move into the top half of the table.
A game largely devoid of any real excitement kicked into life in the closing stages, when Harry Kane was called upon defensively on 73 minutes to clear a James Tarkowski attempt off the line.
Moments later, he used his head to even better effect at the other end as he flicked on from a corner for Heung-min Son to bury the ball for the winner.
Incredibly, it is the seventh time already this season that Kane has set up the South Korean to score and their eighth overall for 2020/21, while it is also Spurs’ first league clean sheet of the campaign.
Scorers: Livermore OG 40′; Grant 83′
Although West Brom’s wait for a first win of the season goes on, they did leave Brighton with a point on Monday night thanks to a late leveller.
After having the better of the opening half, the Seagulls took the lead shortly before the break when a Branislav Ivanović clearance rebounded off Jake Livermore and into the net.
But it was the visitors who were much improved after the break and equalised with seven minutes remaining when Karlan Grant lashed home his first goal for the club, doing so at the perfect time.
