Harry Kane may have held talks with Daniel Levy regarding the next manager of Tottenham, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 27-year-old’s relationship with the next manager of the club is of all-importance.

The Lilywhites confirmed on Monday morning that Mourinho and his staff had been “relived of their duties”.

Robinson believes convincing Kane to remain at the club beyond the summer will be the biggest challenge whoever succeeds Mourinho.

“When you look at the squad Spurs have got, it is world-class,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“They need to sign two centre-halves but other than that the squad is exceptional.

“The biggest job for whoever comes in is persuading Harry Kane to stay. They need somebody who can work closely with him and help the club achieve his goals.

“The most important thing is going to be the new manager’s relationship with Kane. It is vital that they keep him at the club. It will be a massive opportunity for somebody.”
