Arsenal are close to putting the demons of last season behind them after grabbing an impressive 3-1 win away to Olympiacos.

Martin Ødegaard had given the visitors the lead with his first goal for the  picked up the ball 25 yards out before unleashing a powerful drive at goal which was fumbled in by José Sá.

It looked as if Mikel Arteta’s side had shot themselves in the foot again when Youssef El-Arabi pinched the ball off Dani Ceballos to curl past Bernd Leno to equalise.

But Gabriel’s thumping header forced the Gunners in front before substitute Mohamed Elneny drove home a stupendous strike as Arteta looked to evact revenge on the side that knocked them out of this competition in 2019/20.


Tottenham 2-0 Dinamo Zagreb

Harry Kane bagged a brace to put Tottenham Hotspur in a commanding position ahead of the second leg in Croatia next Thursday.

Erik Lamela beat four men before striking the post with an effort with the outside of his boot, the ball fell to the Spurs captain to tap home to break the deadlock for José Mourinho’s side.

Kane then took advantage of some slack defending from the visitors to add his second.

Kévin Théophile-Catherine made a hash of Serge Aurier’s cross and it landed into the path of the striker who tucked home to give Spurs clear daylight in this tie.


Roma 3-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

Roma have one foot in the quarter-finals after comfortably dispatching of Shakhtar Donetsk in the Italian capital.

Lorenzo Pellegrini toe-poked the hosts in front from just outside the box after former Barcelona winger Pedro produced a dynamic run and pass to create the opportunity.

Stephan El Shaarawy then added his first goal since returning to the club before Gianluca Mancini headed home a flick-on from a corner to give Paulo Fonseca’s men a commanding lead heading to Ukraine.


Granada 2-0 Molde

Granada have a huge chance of making the quarter-finals of a European competition for the first time in their history after earning a 2-0 lead over Molde.

A long ball over the top caught out Molde and found its way into the path of Jorge Molina, who tucked it away in the perfect example of route one football.

The visitors then had Martin Ellingsen sent off for a second bookable offence before Roberto Soldado extended the LaLiga side’s lead with a volley which struck the post before going in.

Milan scored a dramatic late equaliser to stun Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Milan saw two early goals ruled out through Rafael Leão and Franck Kessié, before Harry Maguire somehow hit the post from one yard out.

But just minutes after coming on, Amad Diallo latched onto Bruno Fernandes’ perfect chipped pass before heading brilliantly over Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Rossoneri would be rewarded for their late pressure after Simon Kjaer headed through the gloves of Dean Henderson.


Slavia Prague 1-1 Rangers

Rangers have equalised after falling behind early against Slavia Prague.

Nicolae Stanciu put the hosts ahead with a stunning long-range strike that flew past Alan McGregor.

But Filip Helander equalised for the visitors after Ianis Hagi did well to keep a loose ball alive.


Ajax 3-0 Young Boys

Ajax secured an impressive home victory after beating BSC Young Boys 3-0 in Amsterdam.

Antony went close for Ajax early on but guided his header just wide with the goalkeeper beaten.

But the hosts eventually broke the deadlock through Davy Klaassen, who played a smart one-two with Dušan Tadić before finishing.

Tadić doubled their lead with a smart finish before Brian Brobbey put the game beyond doubt in injury time.


Dynamo Kyiv 0-2 Villarreal

Villarreal will be happy with their night’s work after cruising past Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in Ukraine.

Pau Torres slotted into an empty net after Gerard Moreno took advantage of some poor defending before crossing.

Raul Albiol doubled their lead after half time, reacting quickest to a loose ball after Moreno saw his header saved.
