Kane And Alli Get 3, Sanchez With 4 | Tottenham Players Rated In Pathetic Loss Vs Arsenal

Arsenal locked horns with Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates earlier tonight, hoping to pick up all three points on their home turf after a disappointing start to the campaign. Emile Smith-Rowe opened the scoreline in the 12-minute mark as he put the ball past Hugo Lloris from Bukayo Saka’s low cross to make it 1-0 for the hosts. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled Arsenal’s lead in the 27th minute, following which Saka got his name on the scoresheet to make it 3-0 at half-time. Son Heung-min pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 79th minute, but it was too late to charge for a comeback.

Hugo Lloris 5

The France shot-stopper played his part in between the sticks, but there’s not much he could have done to stop the goals that he conceded.

Japhet Tanganga 4

The 22-year-old started the game in a solid fashion, but he struggled to keep up with the pace of Arsenal’s play as the game progressed. He even failed to mark his man in and around the penalty area on a couple of occasions.

Davinson Sanchez 4

The Colombian centre-back was more of a liability at the back for Spurs tonight. He could have made better efforts to stop the game’s first two goals, but his positioning was highly disappointing. He often left huge gaps between himself and Eric Dier, which allowed the Arsenal attackers to drift inside and create goal-scoring opportunities.

Eric Dier 4.5

The Englishman was way too sluggish to defend against the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka, and Emile Smith Rowe. The trio combined exceptionally over the course of the first forty-five minutes, and as a result, Dier found himself in troubling situations quite frequently.

Sergio Reguilon 4.5

It’d be fair to say that the Spaniard was at sixes and sevens trying to defend against Bukayo Saka. He got outpaced (even outmuscled) by the 20-year-old winger on several occasions, which led to clear-cut goal-scoring chances.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 5

The Danish midfielder often found himself helpless defending against Arsenal’s quick exchange of passes in the middle of the park. He was being completely taken out of the equation during the Gunners’ build-ups.

Tanguy Ndombele 5

The Frenchman made some decent solo efforts to carry the ball into dangerous areas in the opposition half, but he ran out of options after getting past Arsenal’s midfield.

Dele Alli 3

The England international had little to no influence on the match. His work rate was below par as he failed to make himself available to receive passes from his teammates time and again.

Lucas Moura 4.5

The Brazilian winger remained anonymous down the right flank.

Son Heung-min 6

The South Korea international was undoubtedly Tottenham’s best player on the pitch tonight. He worked tirelessly over both the halves trying to make things happen and finally got rewarded for it in the 79th-minute as he pulled a goal back for the visitors. It was too late, though.

Harry Kane 3

The England skipper committed two fatal errors in the same build-up that led to Bukayo Saka’s goal in the 34-th minute. Added to that, he missed a relatively easy chance in the second half.
