Uncertainty over whether Kalvin Phillips would receive a Premier League winners medal with Manchester City this season has now been clarified.

Pep Guardiola and his players made it four Premier League titles in a row on Sunday afternoon, defeating West Ham United in a 3-1 home victory that would secure a feat never before achieved in the English top-flight.

Following success on the field, Manchester City were then issued with the Premier League trophy along with 40 winners medals issued to first-team players making five or more appearances, with the exception of goalkeepers.

As such, uncertainty clouded the fate of on-loan midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who had made just four appearances for the club earlier in the season before joining West Ham on a temporary agreement for the remainder of the campaign.

In light of questions around whether Phillips would receive a medal or not, alongside other names to feature briefly in the Premier League for Manchester City, a new report has offered clarification.

As per the information of BBC Sport’s Mike Minay, Kalvin Phillips will receive a Premier League winners medal with Manchester City this season, despite having only played four games in the English top-flight for the club this season.

Three other names to have made appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season will however miss out, with the report stating that Aymeric Laporte (12 minutes), Cole Palmer (10 minutes), and James McAtee (1 minute) are ‘unlikely’ to receive a medal.

Phillips is unlikely to feature again for Manchester City in competitive action, with the England international expected to leave the Etihad Stadium on a permanent deal this summer, pending interest from top-level sides.

As for Aymeric Laporte and Cole Palmer, both players departed the club on permanent deals last summer, joining the Saudi Pro League and Chelsea respectively, with the latter proving to be a huge hit under Mauricio Pochettino.

James McAtee’s future will be assessed this summer, with the highly-rated playmaker returning to Manchester City following a season-long loan with Sheffield United, who ended the campaign with Premier League relegation to the Championship.
