West Ham United have completed the signing of Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.

The Hammers will reportedly pay the England midfielder’s full wages and a bonus, but there is not believed to be an obligation to buy in place for the summer.

Phillips moved to the Etihad Stadium from boyhood club Leeds United in a deal worth a reported £41m, but the 28-year-old has barely featured in Pep Guardiola’s plans, making just 31 appearances for the club totalling 911 minutes.

He scored his only City goal from the penalty spot in a Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade this season, one of just 10 appearances he has made so far this term.

He will hope game-time is easier to come by at his new club, with an eye on England’s squad for this summer’s European Championship.
