Kalidou Koulibaly is the worst of the worst for Chelsea after another silly penalty

It was hard to pick out Chelsea’s worst performer last night in a game in which pretty much the whole team looked utterly lost.
Kai Havertz didn’t cover himself in glory up top and the midfield was totally lifeless (with the exception of Conor Gallagher, who did at least run around a lot) but we might have to give the award to Kalidou Koulibaly.
The defender has been pretty poor ever since arriving at the club, and last night he struggled along with the rest of the back four. WhoScored had him down as a 5.1 out of 10, the lowest rated player on the pitch.
It’s hard to disagree with that. The reason he is so much lower than his fellow defender is the foolish error he made late on to give away the second penalty. The result wasn’t in doubt by then, but the fact he still bundled in clumsily and gave away yet another spot kick shows he’s learned nothing since arriving here in August.
