Kaizer Chiefs have issued an important update on their highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash against Sekhukhune United after the FIFA international break.
The Soweto giants have had an impressive start to the 2025/26 campaign, winning four of their first five league outings, while settling for a share of the spoils with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the other encounter.
As it stands, Chiefs are currently in second place on the table, having accumulated 13 points. Furthermore, Nasreddine Nabi’s men are also the only team yet to concede a goal in the ongoing season.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune have emerged as the early dark horses for the league title as they are at the summit of the table, level on points with Amakhosi, who have an inferior goal difference.
The Limpopo club has scored eight goals in five league matches, conceding just once. Only TS Galaxy have a better conversion rate than Babina Noko after matchday five.
Now, the two teams will lock horns in a high stakes encounter, with maximum points and a spot at the top of the table at stake.
With the fixture initially scheduled for 17 September, Chiefs have announced the match will now take place a day before, on 16 September. Kickoff is set for 19h30 at the FNB Stadium.
