Kaizer Chiefs are actively exploring the loan market as they look to send Happy Mashiane, Samkelo Zwane and Fiacre Ntwari out on a season-long loan, with the players open to the moves for ample game time.

The two academy graduates have somewhat been underused under coach Nasreddine Nabi last season, with competition for a starting spot rife. The players’ lack of game time was fueled by the team’s inconsistent performance, with the Tunisian mentor under pressure to get results.

However, Mashiane suffered an injury that put him on the sidelines for a prolonged period during the 2024/25 season and managed to make nine appearances across all competitions, providing two assists in the process.

Since gaining promotion to the first team, the Tembisa-born left-back featured in 69 games for the Soweto giants and contributed to a total of four goals and five assists. But his career at Naturena changed when he received a red card in the CAF Champions League final in 2021.

Meanwhile, Zwane, who was promoted to the senior team in 2023, played 13 games in all competitions last season and provided a solitary assist. In the 36 matches he has played for the club, the 23-year-old midfielder hasn’t been able to command a regular place in the starting XI.

Now, with contrasting situations, the club’s hierarchy is seeking a solution for the players, who have attracted interest from several Betway Premiership clubs ready to acquire their services on a loan deal this season.

An insider close to the matter has indicated that TS Galaxy, who are known to pounce on Chiefs’ academy graduates, have registered concrete interest in signing Zwane, while KZN side AmaZulu FC are also said to be keen.

Meanwhile, newly promoted Durban City are interested in bolstering their defense with the experience of Mashiane as they look to avoid relegation in their inaugural Betway Premiership campaign.

On the other hand, the Rwandan international, who was signed in July 2024, is another player Chiefs are looking to offload on a season-long loan as he has fallen down the pecking orders behind Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.
