The international games continued last night, and it was a night full of Chelsea involvement.

Most Chelsea fans would have been glued to the England vs Germany game, with the likes of Kai Havertz, Reece James, Raheem Sterling, and Mason Mount all featuring.

It was a hugely entertaining game to watch and ended in a 3-3 draw with England coming back from 2-0 down. Havertz scored twice for Germany, and Mount netted for England.

Havertz really stood out though, especially in the second half. And that coincided with him being asked to drop and play a bit deeper, and this is where he really started to thrive.

Many have said that he needs to play in a deeper role, having largely been put as a false 9 or a wide attacker at Chelsea. He certainly sent a message to Graham Potter last night, reiterating once again that he needs to be playing as a second striker behind the main number nine, or as a number ten. Potter looks like he has seen this already though, having played him a bit deeper in his first game in charge.
