Juve’s transfer plans frozen by Vlahovic dilemma

Juventus are actively looking to reshape their squad this summer with multiple moves in various departments, though the market remains constrained by financial realities and unresolved departures, according to reporting from Tutto Juve, Bianconera News, and Spazio J.

Dusan Vlahovic’s future continues to be a central issue. As transfer expert Dario Canovi explained to Bianconera News, "That of Vlahovic is a real problem; until the Serbian leaves, Juve’s market is essentially blocked, as they don’t have much to spend." This sentiment is echoed by several observers who note that outgoing moves will be decisive for the scope of new signings.

In defense, Juventus are targeting Jeff Chabot of Stuttgart, with SportMediaset confirming the club is weighing a move at around €20 million. Chabot, under contract until 2028 and previously experienced in Serie A, is not considered untouchable by his current club. Negotiations could take shape soon, as alternatives like Balerdi (Marseille) and Lukumi (Bologna) have become less accessible.

Squad depth should be bolstered by the returns of Bremer and Cabal from injury. The club seems set to retain Daniele Rugani, while Kelly, Gatti, Cambiaso, Kalulu, and Savona are likely to stay, according to Spazio J. The situation of Alberto Costa remains up in the air, with exits possible.

On the midfield front, Juventus have shortlisted figures like André (Wolverhampton) and Morten Hjulmand (Sporting). André’s high valuation and competition from Premier League sides have slowed progress. For Hjulmand, former player Arturo Di Napoli told Tutto Juve, "He’s a good player, not a phenomenon, and perhaps not worth €40 million, but this is the market." The club is waiting to see if more favorable terms could be negotiated, having balked at excessive fees in the past.

Youth continues to be a theme, but with caveats. Paolo Tomaselli told Radio Bianconera, "The policy of relying on young players has its own logic, but depending solely on youth risks underperformance and financial loss. You always need a balance—a mix of experience and youthful energy." This view reflects a shift from last summer, when Juventus largely excluded veteran signings from their plans.

For future revenue, Juventus stand to benefit from Felix Correia’s expected transfer from Gil Vicente to Lille. The Turin club will receive about €2 million from a resale clause agreed during Correia's initial move to Portugal.

On the youth front, Next Gen continues to add depth: goalkeeper Stefano Mangiapoco joins from Giana Erminio and center-back Mattia Brugarello from Teramo, as detailed by Tutto Juve.

With management turnover—highlighted by the arrivals of Comolli and Modesto—some skepticism remains among analysts. Antonio Di Gennaro described the direction as "an austerity market," with expectations of modest moves. For Juventus, balancing ambition with economic caution, and unlocking funds through exits, is shaping a pragmatic and cautious approach this summer.
