A debut goal from Dejan Kulusevski, a Leonardo Bonucci strike and a late Cristiano Ronaldo clincher gave Juventus victory over Sampdoria in Andrea Pirlo’s first match in charge.

The Serie A champions took the lead after 13 minutes when Kulusevski found the bottom corner with a fine curling effort from the edge of the box.

It was almost 2-0 10 minutes later when Cristiano Ronaldo crashed an effort off the bar, while Fabio Depaoli went close to an equaliser for Sampdoria just before half-time.

Mattia De Sciglio and Ronaldo both went close to scoring in the second half before Bonucci made it 2-0 from close range when he pounced on a save by goalkeeper Emil Audero.

Weston McKinnie also made his debut for the Bianconeri and almost crowned it with a late goal, while fellow summer arrival Arthur Melo was an unused substitute.

And in the last couple of minutes, Ronaldo made sure of the three points with a composed finish.
